Holly Valance became the third Neighbours star to have a number one single in the UK when Kiss Kiss debuted at number one this week in 2002.
The Go-Betweens released their final album, Oceans Apart, this week in 2005. Grant McLennan died of a heart attack, aged 48, this week in 2006.
Missy Higgins scored her second number one album when On A Clear Night debuted on top this week in 2007.
Mondo Rock’s first live album, Summer of ’81, Live At The Pier, was released a year ago this week.
Happy Birthday to former Church guitarist Marty Willson-Piper, who is 63 on May 7. And Darren Hayes is 49, and the Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, is 58 on May 8.
And we remember Greg Quill from Country Radio, who died from complications due to pneumonia and a recently diagnosed case of sleep apnoea, aged 66, this week in 2013. After relocating to Canada, Quill worked as a music journalist.
