AC/DC’s Back In Black album hit number one in the UK this week in 1980.
Ian Moss scored his first solo number one album this week in 1989 when Matchbook topped the charts.
Missy Higgins’ Scar debuted at number one this week in 2004.
Happy Birthday to Vanessa Amorosi who is 40, and Deborah Conway who is 62, on August 8. INXS drummer Jon Farriss is 60 on August 10. And Men At Work drummer Jerry Speiser is 68 on August 12.
And we remember pioneering Australian rock journalist Lillian Roxon, who died in New York after an asthma attack, aged 41, this week in 1973. She wrote the world’s first rock encyclopedia, 1969’s Lillian Roxon’s Rock Encyclopedia.
