Crowded House’s self-titled debut album knocked off John Farnham’s Whispering Jack to hit number one in Australia this week in 1987.
Jason Donovan became the first Australian act to enter the UK charts at number one when his cover of Sealed With A Kiss debuted on top this week in 1989.
Girl group Girlfriend hit number one with Take It From Me this week in 1992.
The Fauves played their 1000th show, at Melbourne’s East Brunswick Club, this week in 2007.
Happy Birthday to Red Symons who is 76, and Paul O’Gorman who is 74, on June 13.
And we remember ’60s pop star Lynne Randell, who died at home in Melbourne, aged 57, this week in 2007. And the great Jim Keays died of pneumonia, due to complications resulting from multiple myeloma, aged 67, this week in 2014.

For the sixth week in a row there are no Australian singles in ARIA’s Top 40.
Cloud Control have a Top 20 debut with the 15th anniversary edition of Bliss Release. And Spacey Jane spend a fourth week in the Top 40.
